مسلسل "عمر" التلفزيوني (31 حلقة) تصوير مذهل لثورة حولت منطقة الشرق الأوسط من منطقة قبائلية إلى قلب إمبراطورية عالمية: "مولد الإسلام".

تم تصوير هذا الإنتاج التلفزيوني الضخم في مناطق مختلفة من المغرب إلى سوريا، بطاقم فني من 10 دول مختلفة و5 قارات.

ويعد هذا المسلسل إعادة بناء للمجتمع العربي في القرن السابع بجميع تفاصيله. فقد أعيد إنشاء مدينة مكة المكرمة على مشارف مدينة مراكش، بقراها وحواضرها ومدنها الرئيسية إبان ذلك العهد، بناء على المعلومات الواردة في المصادر التاريخية المفصلة.

يتناول مسلسل "عمر" قصة ملحمية لم يسبق عرضها على شاشات التلفزيون، وقد تمت مراجعة معلوماته التاريخية على يد لجنة من أكبر علماء الإسلام تضم كلا من:

ويصور "عمر" حياة سيدنا عمر بن الخطاب رضي الله عنه، الرجل الذي كان قدره أن يحكم إمبراطورية. فبدءاً من حياته المبكرة المتواضعة، نجد فتى متقد الذكاء، عانى من سوء المعاملة، عُهِد به إلى رعاية الإبل في ظلال مجتمع قاس يحدق به الظلم واللامساواة من جميع الجهات.

هذه كانت مكة موطن طفولة عمر بن الخطاب رضي الله عنه عام 210 ميلادية. وحكم مكة، موطن آلاف الألهة التي أصابتها آفة الجشع والرذيلة، نظام قبلي تواق للانتقام ومستعد لارتكاب أقسى أنواع العقوبات بحق كل من يتحداه.

وأظهر عمر للرجال المنخرطين في الجيوش الجرارة التي اصطفت على سهول الجزيرة العربية، صراعا ملحميا لتقرير مصير تلك المنطقة.

هؤلاء الرجال المقاومون: علي بن أبي طالب، وأبو بكر الصديق، وعثمان بن عفان، وعمر بن الخطاب رضي الله عنهم أجمعين، الذين كانت تقودهم الرؤية الخالدة للنبي محمد صلى الله عليه وسلم، قاتلوا من أجل القضاء على الحرس القديم وبناء إمبراطورية الإيمان والعدالة.

قاد سيدنا عمر بن الخطاب هذا الصراع، متوليا مقاليد السلطة في إمبراطورية شاسعة.

مع غرق أوروبا في عصور الظلام، وصل حكم عمر بن الخطاب إلى شواطئ بلاد فارس ومصر في أوسع إمبراطورية عرفها العالم حينذاك. وغيرت رؤيته تاريخنا ومستقبلنا جميعا متفوقا في ذلك على عظماء التاريخ الذين تفخر بهم الحضارات الغربية مثل إسكندر الأكبر ويوليوس قيصر.
